Super Man (1955-2011)

This morning I woke up to one of the most saddening news of the recent time. Steve Jobs is dead

Why Hero ?

No words are sufficient to describe the innovations or amazing stuffs he has produced in his career. Infact, I feel Genius is a highly highly underrated word for him. He is also called as ‘Newton of Apple’ or Einstein of our times. Infact the world is immeasurably better because of Steve.

But coming to his heroism, he did teach me 3 most amazing things which I would like to share it with everyone

  1. Find your Interest, follow it : Most of us are not lucky to find out what our likes are or where does our passion lie. What is that which can keep us interested all our lives? Steve taught me to not live someone else life. He said “Your time is limited, so don’t waste your time living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma which is living with the result of other people thinking. Don’t let other peoples opinion drowned out your inner voice and the most important have the courage to follow your heart”. Trust me, everything else will follow. So, put all your energy in finding out where is your interest
  2. Focus on Quality, everything else will follow : Windows just copied Mac. We all know that. For two and half decades Windows was the richest company, was the most profitable company untill 2011. Apple now is world’s most valuable company, the most profitable and the company to have the highest cash reserve of 90 bn $’s. How did this all happen considering that Microsoft has long list of products and Apple just have 1 laptop, 1 Desktop, just 3 kinds of Ipod, just 1 phone, and 1 tablet. Apple was almost out or closed in 1996, until Steve returned back.  He focused on just one thing i.e  focus on quality. Steve over years had the most brilliant farsightedness which any Human could ever have. He had the ability to decode and understand what a consumer would want even before the consumer himself or herself. And, he had the guts to work and stick to it. For him, rest everything else was secondary. We all know that eventually quality rules and he stick to it. Look, where Apple is now.
  3. Stay Hungry – Stay Foolish : I always say that enthusiasm is the most important characteristic one can have or develop. If you are passionate or enthusiast you will somehow figure out or reach the right way to do things. Who would believe that just 3 months before Steve gave one of the finest keynotes lunching iOS 5 even when he was ailing with a terminal Cancer.  Steve used to look everyday in the mirror and ask “What would I do if this was my last day, What can I change ?”. Are we doing enough, or just becoming an ordinary guy ? We all work to ‘earn and learn’, no ?. So, Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish always

And finally here is a video which which will never get old, never

RIP – Jobs (1955 – 2011)

Steve Jobs, You always had been and will be my Hero. Thank you for your teachings

When you first start off trying to solve a problem, the first solutions you come up with are very complex, and most people stop there. But if you keep going, and live with the problem and peel more layers of the onion off, you can often times arrive at some very elegant and simple solutions.  — Steve Jobs, 2006

Beautiful short trip to North East. Could only manage Meghalaya this time. The white outside the hotel room is clouds (yes). Cherapunji is beautiful as always Family is here. Miss u @mohinisgupta Little sister's sangeet :-) Remember Ratatouille ! Saw this movie for the first time (I am a late bloomer) and couldn't resist cooking this beautiful French dish. Novice attempt in plating it the movie way #ratatouille #firstattempt Hills of Mahabaleshwar. Beautiful Sahyadri. Sunrise this morning :-) Watched Padmavati under Police Protection in Bombay. Its a rare occurrence for Bollywood movies, when you are blown away by its sheer cinematic experience and extravaganza. The brilliant portrayal of the satanic madness of Alauddin Khalji, the valour of Rajput King Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh and the dignified grit of Rani Padmani of Mewar has blown my mind away. The story telling and the visual feast presented by the grandmaster Sanjay L Bhansali has certainly taken Bollywood to another level. The sheer courage of Rajputs and their pride gives you a glimpse of the spectacular land Mewar once was. The portrayal of Rajputs if nothing would compel you to tell stories about their culture and braveness.
Hats of to the magician Bhansali is. New York Cheese Cake & a lazy Saturday Morning :-) Board meet for KJ Soumaya Management college. The idea is to build a healthy eco system to foster entrepreneurship among management graduates as well as interested alumni. Always glad & excited to be a part of Academia
